The Aircraft
Cruising above 85,000 feet at over Mach 3, the Blackbird simply outran every threat. Its titanium skin, sleek chines, and twin spike inlets remain some of the most beautiful engineering ever put in the air.
The Legend
Decades after its last flight, nothing has truly replaced it. The real 61-7980 went on to fly with NASA as "844" and made the program's final flight in 1999 — it's preserved today at Edwards Air Force Base. We build this model to honor the crews and engineers behind the legend.
